REPORT: SHELBOURNE 1-4 CABINTEELY

Cabinteely exacted revenge on Shelbourne on Friday night with a 4-1 win at Tolka Park.
The visitors lost the first meeting of the sides this season out at Blackrock, but in truth, this was a thoroughly deserved three points for Pat Devlin's side. Shelbourne were paying tribute to their league winning side of 1992 after the game, but the current crop weren't inspired by the celebrated former Shels crop, who were paraded at half-time.
Both managers made changes before the game, and one of Cabinteely's, Cory Galvin, crossed for the opening goal of the game in the 9th minute.
He put in a dangerous ball from the right, and Joe Doyle's finish at the front post was superb. The lead didn't last long however, as James English scored against Cabo for the second game in a row. He was unchallenged, as he headed home from a corner from close range.
Owen Heary would have been disappointed with Cabinteely's second lead goal. Jack Watson's free-kick from just inside the Shels' half was headed in by Conor Keely under little pressure. Dale Rooney nearly had the hosts level again before the break. His free-kick from the right touchline went over everyone's head, before coming back off the crossbar.
Keely could have had Cabo two clear early in the second-half, but under some pressure this time, he headed just wide to the right of Delany's goal. The hosts best chance of the second period fell to Dale Rooney, after good build up play by Adam Evans out left. Rooney couldn't keep the effort down however.
And as the half went on, it became ever more tetchy. Five players were booked in the second-half alone, before Evan Galvin's cross was turned passed his own keeper by Alan Byrne to put the contest beyond Shels.
Lotefa put the icing on the Cabo Cake with a fine finish in stoppage time. A crucial three points for Cabinteely, who are on their own in fourth place, eight behind leaders Waterford, who play tomorrow.
