DEVLIN DELIGHTED WITH CABINTEELY 'MOMENTUM' AFTER WATERFORD DRAW

Cabinteely manager Pat Devlin was speaking to SSE Airtricity League reporter Peter Branigan after his side drew 0-0 with Waterford at Stradbrook on Friday night.
Cabo had been beaten 3-0 back in March when the sides last met, but the Devlin says the last two weekends show the strides his side are making.
"We've drawn with UCD and Waterford. We lost six points in the first two games (against UCD and Waterford), and this time around we're two points better off."
"We try to improve every week, and we're happy tonight."
The hosts certainly created more chances in front of goal, and a late opportunity for Jack Watson might have seen the three points go the hosts' way. He had all the time in the world to finish a deep cross, but he miss-timed his effort, and it went harmlessly wide to the left of Matthew Conor's goal.
"He caught it on the heel. If he had caught it where he meant to, it probably would have gone in."
But, having spurned a 2-0 lead against UCD last week, Devlin was happy that his defence kept a third clean sheet of the season.
"We made a couple of changes in defence, and securing a clean sheet is a positive."
Cabinteely beat Athlone 3-0 in the Leinster Senior Cup on Monday, and Devlin say it's important to be able to have competition in his squad as the season goes on. And he feels his team can have a big say in terms of the league.
"We played a different squad in the Leinster Senior Cup during the week, and got a result. So we're gathering momentum."

"It's a long way to go, in terms of the league, and if we can get a win next week we're right back into it."
